SOME RECENT and PAST EVENTS
The Summer of 2021 would have been great for many things, but the lifting of some Covid restrictions came too late to re-organise some events, so many were cancelled.
One new event that hit the Tarmac right on time was at Manchester Airport, with 'blue light' vehicles on display in the 'spotters' and Concorde visitors car park. It's not just Brooklands where you can park your bike next to Concorde.
And the Classic Bike Show at Stafford was back - Not as big as usual, buy a lot bigger than last July.
But, we did manage to get to Stafford with a couple of very special exhibits..
Including this Brough Superior SS80, Delivered to Scotland Yard in 1926, and
The Experimental Norton Rotary with ABS and airbags - ESM3
In 1987, Norton several of their Classic Rotaries (basically an Interpol2) and kitted it out for some experimental work, including ABS brakes and a riders airbag system, for destructive testing at the TRRL testing site. This one survived as work had moved on to the water-cooled versions.
